We are men. We have families and our passions. And we travel a lot. But we are also textile professionals with 25+ years of experience in the knitting and garment making sector.

For year and years we tried to find the perfect undershirt for ourselves and tested probably all brands available on the European and US markets. Whilst being a bit more conscious than an average consumer, we simply could not find the ideal product… so we decided to make one.

Having a close business relationship to world’s leading yarn producers, we have access to the newest material innovations and properly equipped laboratories for testing our ideas. Working regularly as technical advisors with almost 300 textile producers in Europe, we were able to identify the most skilled manufacturers and convince them to work with us. For this job we only chose the best business partners we could find – people who understood the idea, behind our product.

We control all of the process from fiber to package to be 100% sure that the garments reaching our customers are best value for money. All yarns, threads and dye-stuff are purchased from assured producers certified by Oeko-tex Standard 100, proving that no illegal substances or harmful chemicals have been used.

The garment making process takes place in Lodz – the textile heart of Poland, once called Polish Manchester. Textile tradition here dates back to 19th century. Fabric and garment making processes are integrated at one of Poland’s leading underwear producers with a strict quality control, ensuring superb and stable parameters over time. Choosing business partners we also perform ethical and environmental audits.

First of all, our garments are not t-shirts. They are undershirts – part of your underwear. T-shirts are often made of cotton and are rather loose with little or none-at-all level of elasticity.

Our garments are supposed to hide under your favorite tee, polo or shirt providing you with extra comfort independently if it means avoiding sweat marks, smoothing body imperfections, covering extra chest hair or simply adding some warmth on colder days.

A bad undershirt can ruin your day because you feel it all the time instead of focusing on what is really important. BRO is designed in a different way and made from completely different materials than a regular tee. All aspects of the product had been carefully studied and only the best options were chosen. Zero compromises.

We created an unique blend of yarns to offer maximum comfort, performance and long life for garments that are supposed to be like your second skin. The fabric consists of 2 faces.

On the part touching your skin we used a man-made fiber called LYCRA® T400. It is a fantastic fiber with 2 very special features. First, when treated with high temperature during finishing process, it becomes permanently elastic. This feature ensures that your garment will never shrink or twist whilst hugging your body just enough for the ease of movements. No traditional spandex has been used. Second, the unique cross section of this fiber is shaped like a snowman, which gives the extra surface for enhanced wicking performance. Humidity from your body is absorbed easily and moved to the outside layer of the garment, from where it evaporates quickly. You have the feeling of a dry fabric touching your skin even in the most stressful situations.

The outside layer of the fabric is a natural fiber. Most of producers use cotton, which is a great fiber, but mainly when dry. Unfortunately it accumulates humidity and forms moist residues, especially under armpits. We found a better solution – modal. The fabric has a very soft touch, a subtle shine and good resistance to pilling, the ideal composition for high-quality, luxurious but natural feeling.

This unique fabric composition also dries much quicker than traditional underwear made of cotton.

Well, basically everything. BRO Undershirt is based on sport garments for professional athletes. However, the material, design and colors are far more casual for an everyday experience.

In terms of material it’s the right balance between the thickness of the fabric and its elasticity. Just enough to hug your body without restraining your moves. The fabric doesn’t bunch and roll under a shirt and doesn’t add the unnecessary extra volume.

In terms of construction we used special flat seams. They blend smoothly into the surface of the fabric and are very elastic. We also moved the side seams forward, so they don’t double the seams on your outer layer. The sleeves connect to the body by a very specific construction called RAGLAN SLEEVE. It was first introduced before the Battle of Waterloo and allowed the commander, Lord Raglan to use his sword with greater ease of movements. We improved this to make it even more comfortable, so that you don’t have the extra seam on top of your shoulders, which is important f.ex. when wearing a backpack.

Sure, the top priority was to keep the undershirt always tucked in, independently if the outer layer is also tucked in or hanging loose. For this reason, we studied special anti-slip surfaces, which follow the seams in the lower-front part of the garment and increase the friction between materials, providing the extra grip needed to keep the undershirt in place. They come as an extra feature.
This solution is nature inspired. Geckos are reptiles, that can climb almost any surface thanks to a special adhesive structure on their feet. Our GECKO DOTS™ are supposed to mimic this super power.

Yes, they will reduce its adhesive ability after several washes, but their 3D structure will still do ca. 80% of the initial job after years of use.

BRO Undershirts are completely tag-less. All logos and legally required care instructions are either permanently printed onto the garments or just listed on the packages. We kept the print as minimal as possible and placed them in non-obstructive places. Zero itchy and irritating sew-in labels. We understand your pain very well. It was the primary reasons to start BRO Undershirts.

They are simply second to none. No other garment ever produced in this category has been better engineered or manufactured. Get yours and love it for years. In fact it is an investment, as BRO Undershirts help protecting your favorite shirts, which are far more expensive. Even if you haven’t worn an undershirt before, once you try there is no coming back. They are not only for your grandfather, Bro.

Last but not least, we re-invest most of the profit into R&D to help our beloved ladies find similarly good garments in the future. Every BRO deserves a SIS… someday.
